Key Research and Development Tools of IR2D

1) Advocacy:  IR2D enjoys services of experts in the field of media production and publication utilized for awareness of target communities pertinent to different projects and development initiatives. This is materialized through different means and tools across Pakistan. 

2)  Research Studies: We have worked on many research studies alongside local, UN agencies and other international organizations and think tanks. Our latest studies include;

a.   Public perception survey for Land Registration in Merged Areas (LRMA) alongside IMSciences Peshawar funded by DAI (USAID) - 2023

b.  Research study for designing community based approaches to address radicalization of ex-combatants in the insurgency hit Swat valley (UNDP)

c.  Report on “Displaced Persons of North Waziristan Agency: Issues and Challenge”.

d.  Worked for RAHA program of GIZ and UNHCR in Haripur and Mansehra districts

3)  Discussion and Dialogues: We have been organizing many national, Provincial and regional level discussions (seminars, conferences, workshops, debates and round table conferences) on various issues of national and international importance, ranging from social, political and economic to cultural, medical and security issues in and around Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) of KP and Baluchistan. To have a better understanding on the issues in question we have been inviting and engaging Academia, Journalists, Politicians, Artists, Youth, Women Leaders, Lawyers and government officials, tribal elders, maliks and community leaders.  

4)  Social Media: IR2D has its own Youtube TV Chaneel (Channel 51). We have got a multi-purpose studio based in Islamabad with facility of program conception, design, shooting, editing and dissemination. IR2D has a regular feature of radio programming as well from this studio. IR2D has an experience of producing radio PSAs and Election Advocacy Programs from its state of the studio, established since its inception in 2019. 

5)  Youth Empowering Through Skill Based Learning: IR2D has a strong base in working on international level with Amazon and other online shopping enterprises. We have been training youth on different online tools like designing, content production, marketing, SEO and many other tools. Learning through these brings a decent livelihood opportunity to each youth at home. 

6)  Capacity Building: One of the basic objectives of IR2D is to build capacity of the locals, government institutions and other relevant quarters in media, communication, security and governance, conflict resolution and disaster risk reduction in order to equip and train the locals to address issues themselves while living in a disaster prone zone. To that end, we have been working in collaboration with academicians, institutes and organizations to build their capacities for improved delivery of services and outputs as desired.
